- When you cast your ballot, you are also voting for the slate of electors appointed by your state’s political party.
- The winner takes all of the electors in a state where they are victorious. Many states will have incredibly close margins, making it even more important to cast your ballot.
- There are a total of 538 electors and a presidential candidate must gain at least 270 to obtain the candidacy. (BBC)
